MEDICAL ASSISTANT

ENT Baltimore is looking for an enthusiastic, organized, patient-focused Medical Assistant. The primary purpose of the Medical Assistant is to help the providers with patient care and prepare exam rooms. This position requires duties of a Medical Assistant and Front Desk support. This role will report to the Practice Administrator. The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM, no weekends. The locations are in Lutherville, Reisterstown, Mercy Medical Center, and Overlea. Travel to all clinic locations is required, reliable transportation is preferred.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting Physicians, Mid-Level Practitioners, and Registered Nurses with the evaluation, management, and treatment of patients in an ambulatory care setting.
  • The Medical Assistant assumes responsibility for maintaining patient flow, the upkeep of exam and treatment rooms, and performing basic skills such as vital signs and point of care testing.
  • The Medical Assistant will administer intramuscular injections, immunizations, and over-the-counter medications under the direction of a Physician.
  • The Medical Assistant must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 30 pounds.
  • The Medical Assistant will assist with supporting the front desk as needed, scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and responding to emails.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Current CPR Certification required
  • Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program preferred
  • Minimum of two years clinical experience preferred
  • Previous surgical experience preferred
  • Ability to work in a high stressed, fast-paced environment

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

This position has no supervisory responsibility.

Current Medical Assistant Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA, or NCCT preferred
