Job description

Job Description
This position is a 1.0 FTE at Barrett Elementary School.
Qualifications:
  • Assistants must meet the requirements of the NCLB and Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) at the time of hire.
  • A high school diploma, and An Associate Degree or two years of college study.
    • At least 60 semester hours, 12 which must be in English or mathematics, depending on job responsibilities, or
    • A score of at least 455 on the Parapro Test.

Experience:
  • Experience working with a Library Media Specialist.
  • Experience working in an elementary school setting.

Responsibilities:
  • Familiarity with library procedures and children's literature.
  • Ability to work and to interact in a positive and courteous manner with all students, staff and parents.
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Patient, flexible, and dependable.
  • Performs clerical and instructional support work in the library/media center.

Salary:
Salary will be based on the FY2026-27 salary schedule.
