Job Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Registered Nurse experience in a high-acuity, high-volume Labor & Delivery environment
  • Experience caring for high-risk obstetric patients in a fast-paced maternity care setting strongly preferred
  • Valid RN license; compact license required at submission
  • BLS and NRP required
  • ACLS and AWHONN Advanced or Intermediate preferred
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Ability to work with electronic fetal monitoring and support AWHONN-based care standards
  • Must be comfortable with circulating duties and newborn care responsibilities
  • At least 1 year of professional experience is required if not otherwise specified by specialty needs
Responsibilities
  • Provide expert nursing care for patients in labor, delivery, recovery, postpartum, and antepartum settings as assigned
  • Circulate for C-sections and assist with high-risk deliveries
  • Serve as the baby nurse during delivery and continue newborn care through transfer to postpartum
  • Perform newborn assessments, including eyes, thighs, and vitamin K support as directed by unit practice
  • Monitor fetal heart patterns and assist with recognition and response to abnormal findings
  • Administer and titrate medications such as Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, Insulin, and Heparin per protocol
  • Support vaginal deliveries, cesarean recovery, and postpartum care for mothers and newborns
  • Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and the care team to provide safe, compassionate maternal newborn care
