Job description

Job Title: Restaurant Equipment Installer

Classification: Non-exempt

Reports to: Installation Manager

Supervision: No supervisory responsibilities

Salary Range: $18.00-$20.00/hour depending on experience

JOB DESCRIPTION          

Summary/Objective

Responsible for assisting in a variety of installation duties, including unloading and loading trucks with equipment for onsite installation and completion of accurate work orders.  Responsible for driving a van or lighter vehicle to specified job sites when needed.

Essential Functions
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Installations:

1. Load and unload equipment to take to specific job sites.

2. Install new food service (kitchen) systems as required.

3. Diagnose and correct installation issues that may arise in various types of food service (kitchen) and refrigeration systems upon installation.

4. Relocate and expand existing food service (kitchen) systems as required.

5. Inspect jobs upon completion and ensure areas are clean.

6. Detect needed repairs on equipment following established inspection procedures.

7. Carries out tasks as assigned by the Installation Manager.

8. Identifies damaged, lost, or missing materials that must be corrected for proper installation.

10. Follows all safety codes.

Delivery Driver (as needed):

1. Delivers goods to customers.

2. Confirms package(s) are not damaged.

3. Loads merchandise into van or truck.

4. Follows traffic signs to get to destination.

5. Reads and interprets maps and GPS directions.

6. Monitors traffic conditions to avoid delays.

7. Ensures address on package(s) matches up to delivery address.

8. Maintains logs of packages delivered.

9. Ensures inventory loads match shipping papers.

10. Performs daily pre-trip inspection on vehicle.

11. Maintains accurate daily logbooks for compliance under DOT.

12. Drives 26’ box truck and delivery truck as needed.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment
This job operates in a warehouse or various client locations depending on the installation job.

Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

1. Must be able lift up to 50 lbs.

2. Must be able to push/pull up to 100 lbs.

3. Must be able to stand for long periods of time throughout the day.

4. Must be able to work in extreme heat/cold/rain.

5. Must be able to reach/grab/bend/stoop/climb/walk regularly on a daily basis.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and general hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. This position regularly requires long hours and frequent weekend work.

Travel
Travel is a primary, required component of this position. Both local and out-of-town travel to job sites is required.

Required Education and Experience

1.      High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.

2.      1 - 2 years’ installation and driver experience required.

Preferred Education and Experience

1.      Forklift preferred. but not required.

2.      Lull operation preferred, but not required.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

1. Successful completion of a drug screen and background check.

2. Must have a good driving record with valid driver’s license.

3. Ability to perform mathematical calculations.

4. Ability to use hand and power tools.

5. Must be able to diagnose and resolve problems.

6. Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics and written reference material.

7. Ability to listen and communicate (written and verbal) effectively.

8. Ability to anticipate work needs and follow through with minimum direction.

9. Ability to protect organization's value by keeping information confidential.

10. Must be dependable and have good attendance.
