Job description

Weekend Physical Therapist Position

Weekend position consisting of working 46 out of 52 weekends in Corewell Health South Medical Center, SJ, as the need arises. The weekend is defined as shifts between the hours of 8:30 am and 5:00 pm on Saturday & Sunday. However, specific times may vary according to location and need. Position includes working at least one summer and one winter Holiday weekend. Assess, plan, organize, administer, document and evaluate direct physical therapy patient care in accordance with accepted physical therapy practice and the physician's overall treatment plan.

Essential Functions

  • Perform a thorough and complete evaluation of patients properly referred according to Michigan law in order to determine the patient's rehab potential and establish an individually based treatment plan.
  • Administer physical therapy treatments to patients according to professional standards and department standard operating procedure in order to maximize the patient's potential functioning level and to achieve treatment goals set in coordination with patient/family, physician and other team members.
  • Maintain and complete accurate documentation, department records and reports for all assigned patients in order to provide a clear record and to communicate patient's treatment plan and progress to the referring physician.
  • Maintain commitment to professional growth and competency to ensure the quality of care.
  • Contribute to the efficient and productive operation of the rehab services.
  • Maintain effective communication with other members of the rehab team regarding physical therapy programs to ensure understanding and better patient care.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent from an accredited school of physical therapy (APTA)
  • LIC-Physical Therapist - STATE_MI State of Michigan required And
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association required Or
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross required
