Heartline Staffing, in partnership with Purple Cow Recruiting, is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a travel assignment in Torrance, California.
This role supports a high-acuity Labor & Delivery unit managing both routine and high-risk OB patients in a fast-paced acute care hospital setting.
POSITION OVERVIEW
This assignment is ideal for experienced L&D nurses who are confident managing high-risk pregnancies, assisting with cesarean sections, and supporting patients through labor, delivery, and recovery.
ASSIGNMENT DETAILS
• 13-week contract
• Night shift 3x12s (19:00–07:30)
• Weekend requirements apply
• Floating required to Mother/Baby and within Providence system as needed
COMPENSATION
Because travel rates change frequently based on market demand and facility needs, our recruiters provide the most current and competitive pay packages during your initial conversation. Each compensation package is customized and may include taxable hourly wages along with tax-free stipends when applicable.
CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide care for laboring patients including high-risk OB cases
• Monitor fetal heart rate and maternal status
• Assist with vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections
• Provide immediate postpartum care and recovery support
• Administer medications and IV therapies
• Collaborate with OB physicians and interdisciplinary teams
• Document patient care using Epic EMR

• Free parking

Requirements:

Requirements
• Minimum 3 years Labor & Delivery experience REQUIRED (HARD STOP)
• High-risk OB experience REQUIRED
• Previous travel experience REQUIRED
• Active California RN license REQUIRED (must be in hand)
• ACLS, BLS, NRP REQUIRED
• AWHONN Advanced REQUIRED (HARD STOP) OR C-EFM accepted
• Epic charting experience REQUIRED (HARD STOP)
• Ability to manage 1:2 patient ratios
• Must be comfortable with cesarean sections and recovery
• Must be able to float to Mother/Baby and other Providence facilities
• Must meet 50-mile radius rule
• Locals accepted at lower rate
• RTO must be submitted with application
• Must be willing to work weekends and holidays as required
Important Notes:
• First-time travelers accepted
• Must work 2 of 3 major holidays (facility may require 3 of 5)
• 2 supervisory references required
• LA Fire Card required within 30 days (not reimbursed)
• Modules non-billable (avg 16 hours)
