Job description

Third Way Center is seeking a full time awake overnight mental health counselor to work as a member of a multidisciplinary treatment team at one of our residential facilities working with high risk youth ages 13-20. We are looking for a creative and dynamic set of people who like to be challenged and seek to learn and better themselves professionally and personally. Our mission is to provide a continuum of services in a home-like environment where at-risk youth can work through their traumas and learn to take responsibility for their actions and lives to become productive members of society.
Our Overnight MHC's are active members of the treatment team that carry out our programmatic goals as well as work with the youth on their own treatment goals. Responsibilities are:
Milieu management including counseling and crisis intervention when needed
Knowledge of the histories and plans for all youth in order to give individualized care
Teaching the youth different skills based on their current abilities in order to enhance their opportunity for normalization and self determination
Ability to work as a team and take direction utilizing resident's treatment plans is a must

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in social work or related field. Can substitute two years of experience for educational requirements. The candidate must also possess a current valid Colorado driver's license, have a clean driving and criminal record, be at least 22 years of age and have the ability to obtain QMAP, and CPR/First Aid certification. Additionally, the candidate must pass an extensive background and DMV check. We follow Federal Drug Screening Laws.
