Job description

Job Description for Experienced Farm Worker

Location: McMinn County, Tennessee

Employment type: Full-time

Compensation: Good pay based on experience. Expect SIX days/week during harvest season (Overtime opportunities)

We are a family ran farm in McMinn County producing row crops (corn, Soybeans, Wheat, Straw/hay) and manage a beef cow herd. Seeking a reliable, skilled farm worker to handle key fieldwork and livestock duties

Responsibilities and Required experience:

  • CDL-A license required.
  • Operating field sprayer for accurate application of herbicides, pesticides and fertilizers
  • Handling and mixing agricultural chemicals safely and precisely
  • Experienced in operating GPS/auto-steer furnished equipment for fieldwork
  • Operation and manage various farm equipment (tractors, loaders, etc)
  • Hay operations: Mowing, tedding, raking, baling, and wrapping
  • Beef Cattle feeding operation, Silage, Hay, etc
  • General farm tasks as needed. Maintenance, fencing, etc

 

Qualifications:

  • Dependable
  • Strong work ethic
  • Physically able to lift 75 pounds safely
  • Ability to work in demanding environment, such as extreme heat and cold conditions
  • Reliable transportation to and from the farm
  • References from previous farm employers
