Job description

Available Schedule: Part-Time, Hours vary according to doctor appointments and activity trips. Weekend Availability maybe be needed.

BROAD SCOPE OF POSITION: Responsible for the transporting of residents to scheduled and unscheduled appointments, activities, and outings. Assists with shopping and errand running for residents as required.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

· Drives all facility vehicles for the purpose of transporting residents, errand running for residents, and designated staff members.

· Assists residents in getting on and off van or in and out of vehicles as needed.

· Tracks attendance and is accountable for resident’s presence in and off vehicles.

· Loads and coordinates parcels and equipment (walkers, canes, wheelchairs, etc.) for residents.

· Schedules routine maintenance (in coordination with maintenance personnel) for vehicles and is responsible for keeping vehicles clean.

· Keeps accurate mileage, maintenance, and passenger records.

· Read, understand, and comply with all regulations regarding resident’s rights.

· Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

· Experience driving a van or bus with clean driving record.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS, KNOWLEDGE OR SKILLS:

· Valid driver license.

· Clean driving record.

· Good communication skills

· Must be able to work alone and with others

· Must be able to lift 20 pounds plus

· Experience in long term or geriatric care helpful

· General knowledge of automotive repair helpful

· Required to assist with other projects and activities as needed and requested by the supervisor.

Experience:

  • Driving: 1 year (Required)
  • Senior care: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • Driver's License (Required)
