We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Electrical & Energy Systems Engineer to lead the design, optimization, and integration of advanced energy solutions across utility-scale and distributed energy systems. This role requires deep expertise in electrical engineering, energy management, renewable energy technologies, and utility operations. The ideal candidate will drive technical strategy, support grid modernization initiatives, and deliver reliable, efficient, and sustainable energy solutions.

  • Lead the design, analysis, and implementation of electrical systems for renewable energy projects (solar, wind, storage, microgrids).
  • Develop and optimize energy management systems (EMS) to improve efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Interface with utility stakeholders to ensure compliance with grid interconnection requirements, standards, and regulations.
  • Conduct power system studies, including load flow, short-circuit, protection coordination, and stability analysis.
  • Support grid integration of distributed energy resources (DERs), including battery storage and demand response systems.
  • Provide technical leadership across cross-functional teams, mentoring junior engineers and guiding project execution.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions aligned with decarbonization and grid modernization goals.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards (IEEE, NEC, NERC, FERC, etc.).
  • Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex electrical and energy system issues.
  • Contribute to business development efforts, including proposal development and client engagement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field
  • 8-12+ years of experience in electrical engineering within utilities, energy systems, or renewable energy sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of power systems, grid operations, and utility infrastructure.
  • Experience with renewable energy systems (solar PV, wind, battery storage).
  • Proficiency in power system analysis tools (e.g., ETAP, PSCAD, PSSE, SKM, or similar).
  • Deep understanding of energy management systems (EMS), SCADA, and grid controls.
  • Experience with utility interconnection processes and regulatory frameworks.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with microgrids, smart grid technologies, and DER integration.
  • Familiarity with energy markets, demand response, and grid services.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity considerations in energy systems.
  • Experience leading large-scale or utility-facing projects.
