We are looking for a Dispatcher to join a busy operations team in Princeton, Indiana in a contract to hire role. This position supports daily transportation coordination in a fast-paced office environment, where strong communication, organization, and computer skills are essential. The ideal candidate is comfortable balancing driver support, inbound calls, and administrative tasks while maintaining accuracy throughout the day. The hours for the Dispatcher are 5AM-2PM CST, Monday-Friday. You must also be available for some overtime on weekends.
Responsibilities of the Dispatcher:
• Coordinate daily dispatch activity by communicating with drivers, tracking load movement, and updating internal systems with accurate information.
• Answer inbound calls and respond to operational questions from drivers, customers, and internal team members in a thorough and attentive manner.
• Prepare driver checksheets each morning, organize them by route or priority, and post them for daily use.
• Use Microsoft Office applications and dispatch-related platforms to manage schedules, enter updates, and maintain records.
• Support load planning and workflow management by monitoring changing priorities and adjusting assignments as needed.
• Work closely with operations leadership and shop personnel to keep transportation activity running efficiently throughout the shift.
• Step into the yard when necessary to speak directly with drivers, following site safety expectations.
• Assist with additional administrative and dispatch-related duties as business needs require, including overtime and occasional Saturday coverage.
• Prior experience in dispatching, transportation coordination, customer service, or a similar fast-paced support role.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams, along with the ability to learn internal management systems quickly.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities at once.
• Comfortable handling inbound calls and interacting professionally with drivers, team members, and customers.
• Availability to work first shift and overtime when needed.
• High attention to detail and dependable organizational skills for managing daily documents and dispatch updates.
