Title: Dispatch Supervisor

Location: Indianapolis IN

Starting Pay: $30-37/hr

Contract or Contract to Hire (Can only guarantee 6 months but they think it will be direct hire)

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience with dispatching
  • Good with computers and software
  • Great communication skills
  • Able to MultiTask


Manager notes

  • These drivers haul contaminated dirt from one location to another
  • This person will be using UKG for timecard approvals
  • Will coordinate driver training thru Lynx
  • Understands Geotabs and tracking drivers
  • Administrative tasks
  • This is an office role but they will go to the yard from time to time for audits

Our Client is looking for a Dispatch Supervisor. They will be responsible for scheduling, coordinating, and supervising a fleet of drivers.


As a Dispatch Supervisor you will be responsible for receiving dispatch requests and partnering with relevant personnel to notify drivers of specific pickup or delivery dates/times for customer waste materials. This role will work collectively with drivers and other team members to ensure customers are serviced on time.


Essential Functions & Requirements:

  • Prioritizes health and safety by adhering to policies, processes, and maintaining safe practices at all times
  • Receives dispatch requests and partners with management to notify drivers of specific pickup or delivery dates and times for customer industrial waste materials; ensures customers are serviced on time
  • Dispatches loads consistent with routing requests and according to and DOT procedures
  • Develops and maintains records of activities including tracking shipments, roll-off container inventory, and researching waste streams for special projects, quotes, and equipment utilization among other operations
  • Generate weekly and monthly load reports and others as requested; interfaces with other Company operations by scheduling additional equipment or drivers as needed
  • Assists in the coordination of transportation services for internal Coordinators to ensure customer needs are met
  • Monitors loading, reloading and dispatching of special material not conforming to standard procedures
  • Coordinates transportation activities between service centers to maximize assets
  • Maintains 24-hour availability to manage driver issues or equipment repair requests as needed, as well as manage accident minimization efforts
  • Offers clear, legible communications via electronic, written or verbal methods
  • Provides supervision to direct reports and maintains the ability to effectively manage issues that arise while team members are away from home or the terminal
  • Takes on additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization


Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)


Experience:

  • Previous dispatching experience (preferred)


Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of US geography to effectively dispatch drivers in the most efficient manner
  • Ability to effectively utilize various computer applications including Microsoft Office Suite and PC Miller
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Regular and predictable attendance to perform the functions and requirements of this roll
