About This Role

We’re looking for a compassionate and dedicated Lead Teacher to join our team at The Wright Daycare to help lead and love our Tots Class (ages 1-2 years old)! In this role, you’ll lead the classroom, fostering a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive. With over 15 years of excellence in daycare services and guided by a Director with 38+ years of child care expertise, The Wright Daycare is dedicated to providing top-notch early childhood education. What You'll Do
  • Ensure proper cleaning and sanitizing protocol and procedures are followed daily.
  • Coordinate and implement educational curriculum by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards
  • Lead by example; encourage teaching team success through modeling and coaching.
  • Plan individual and group age-appropriate activities to actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive and emotional growth.
  • Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences.
  • Ensure all center policies and state regulations are met.
  • Ensure a healthy classroom environment – including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and safety and security of children.
  • Supervise teacher assistants and classroom volunteers to ensure they are following planned activities, hygiene and safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate records, forms and files.
  • Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.

Requirements
  • Must have at least a high school diploma, a high school equivalency credential recognized by the State Board of Education, Certificate of Completion, or a South Carolina High School Employability Credential
  • Must clear full background check.
  • Must pass health screening.
  • Within thirty days of being employed, a caregiver must complete fifteen hours of health and safety service provider training.
  • Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification will be provided.

Nice To Haves
  • Minimum of 6 months of professional child care experience preferred (but not required).
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
  • High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
  • A strong understanding of child development.
