DAYCARE HELPER

We are excited to invite a passionate and experienced Daycare Helper to join our team! Homes for the Homeless (HFH) is searching for an experienced Daycare Helper for our Families w/ Children facility in the Soundview area of the Bronx. As the Daycare Helper, you will play a pivotal role in our organization by providing primary care and a comfortable learning environment for children 2-5 years old. You will assist a team of teachers by helping guide children through lessons. Join us and be a part of an organization that values your contribution and cares deeply for the community we serve.

ABOUT HOMES FOR THE HOMELESS:

Homes for the Homeless operates shelters for families experiencing homelessness in NYC. Our family residences are more than just a place to sleep. Families can make the most of their stay through accessing an array of onsite programs. Many of these programs are also available to people living in the local community. Our goal is to have a positive impact so families can thrive long after they leave our shelters.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

โ€ข Open the center and assist with attendance and sign-ins.

โ€ข Clean center including cubbies, cots, bookcases, bathroom, and laundry.

โ€ข Complete daily cleaning log.

โ€ข Provide teachers with assistance throughout the day as needed.

โ€ข Complete pre-planned activities.

โ€ข Serve meals and snacks.

QUALIFICATIONS:

โ€ข High School Diploma or GED.

โ€ข Must be able to work an 8am-4pm shift.

โ€ข Ability to lift at least 40 pounds.

โ€ขAbility to sit on the floor, bend, and pick up children through the course of an 8-hour shift.
