Job description

Be a positive role model for school-age children in our licensed childcare program and CHANGE LIVES, INCLUDING YOURS.

As an After School Youth Leader, you will provide care for children in grades K-5 in our after school childcare program located at the Main YMCA at 1608 N. Washington Street in Bismarck.  You will also ensure the well-being of children by implementing safety and cleaning procedures.

Ashley Pederson, YDC Teacher said, "I love my job for many reasons! First, I came to YDC after the center I worked at for 9 years had closed. I only knew two people, but right away everyone made me feel so welcome! Being a childcare provider is the most rewarding career, and I couldn't imagine doing anything else!"

In this role, you can look forward to:

  • Helping pick up children from school and accompanying them during the bus ride to the YMCA
  • Assisting children with snack and clean up
  • Facilitating and engaging in fun and educational activities with children
  • Observing children and maintaining open communication with parents
  • Assure child safety by understanding and following safety and security procedures

Part Time, Monday-Friday, 1:30 pm-6:00 pm

We are seeking individuals who embody the YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. Prior experience working in a childcare or educational setting is a plus. CPR & First Aid Certification and Child Abuse prevention training will be completed within 90 days of hire and are provided by the YMCA.
