About the Role

As a Cook you will play a vital role in preparing nutritious and delicious meals that meet the dietary needs and preferences of our residents. Your work will directly contribute to the overall well-being and satisfaction of those we serve, ensuring that food is prepared safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. You will collaborate closely with dietary and healthcare teams to accommodate specific medical and nutritional requirements. This position demands attention to detail, adherence to health regulations, and a commitment to maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes, dietary guidelines, and individual resident needs, including specialized diets and medical conditions.
  • Maintain accurate records of food inventory, meal preparation, and dietary modifications to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Ensure all kitchen equipment and work areas are cleaned and sanitized regularly to meet regulatory standards and prevent contamination.
  • Assist in menu planning and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance meal quality and resident satisfaction.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a cook in a healthcare or similar environment.
  • Minimum of two (2) years' cooking experience working in food service of a long-term care facility or a health-care setting is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Ability to follow detailed dietary instructions and recipes accurately.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage records and inventory effectively.
