Job Summary
The Associate Developer, Packaging and Labeling is a support role assisting with the development and execution of packaging and labeling to adhere to the brand, quality, and compliance standards of Carhartt. The role has strong collaboration with Marketing, Brand Design, Legal, Brand Integrity, Design and Merchandising to support Carhartt's packaging and labeling strategy and execute to seasonal timelines. Communication with cross-functional team members is crucial to the role to ensure correct execution is met on a seasonal basis. This role will provide the Sr. Developer and Manager with updates regarding seasonal development, including sample tracking, timing, and delivery.

Associate Responsibilities
  • Assists with the package and label department's execution of all new seasonal developments from concept through production approval with nominated packaging and labeling suppliers.
  • Collaborates with global supply chain including packaging and labeling suppliers, vendors, and procurement team to ensure timelines are maintained and bring up red flags along with solutions as they arise.
  • Responsible for all data entry and material specification accuracy within our product lifecycle management system. Also required to create and maintain sample tracking information to ensure the team is on track with development milestones. Maintains approved templated within the PLM system
  • Audits garment care label content and packaging layouts for multiple categories. This includes data entry into development systems, communicating with the appropriate cross functional parties, and ensuring the labels are compliant with government regulations (EMEA & North America).
  • Collaborate with internal and full package factories to ensure all new packaging is tested so all products can be successfully commercialized. This includes testing substrates, evaluating print techniques, and reviewing layouts.
  • Executes department's seasonal production timelines for packaging. Communicate deadlines to the team to adhere to the production timeline.
  • Creates weekly brand ID notes and participates in the meeting when necessary for categories that are being supported.
  • Participates in bi-weekly development meetings and brings updates or red flags along with solutions to the cross-functional teams' attention.

Required Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Textiles, Apparel, Packaging, or a related field; or equivalent years of related experience in lieu of a degree.

Required Skills & Experience
  • Experience in Packaging and Labeling and or Product Development within the Apparel or Textile industry preferred.
  • Knowledge of global standards and regulations as related to apparel packaging, labeling and care instructions preferred.
  • Proficient in technology including PLM, Smartsheet, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Illustrator, etc.
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to learn quickly and work in a team environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to be flexible, solution oriented and adaptive to changing priorities.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
  • Normal office environment, extended periods of sitting/standing or typing at a computer is required.
  • Willing to work weekends if necessary
  • Light lifting may be required- up to 30 LBS
  • This position has a Hybrid location: Associate will work on-site regularly as needed for work activities.
