Job description

Construction Laborer
Miranda Construction | Field Operations | Full-Time / Hourly
Note: Candidates must be able to perform physical labor in an active construction environment. Experience in commercial or industrial construction is preferred. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required. We appreciate your respect for these qualifications.
At Miranda Construction, we build the best buildings, with the best people. Our reputation is rooted in disciplined field execution, collaborative partnerships, and an unwavering commitment to quality and safety on every project we deliver.
We are seeking reliable, hardworking Construction Laborers to join our field teams - individuals who take pride in their work, show up ready every day, and understand that the best buildings are built by the best people.
Role Purpose
The Construction Laborer is a foundational member of Miranda Construction's field team. You will support daily site operations across all phases of construction - assisting tradespeople, maintaining a clean and organized job site, moving materials, and performing general labor tasks that keep the project moving forward safely and efficiently.
This is a physical, hands-on role requiring dependability, a strong work ethic, and the willingness to do whatever it takes to keep the job site moving on active commercial and industrial construction projects.
Why You'll Thrive at Miranda Construction
  • Steady Work: Miranda Construction runs active, well-managed job sites with consistent workflow and a stable schedule you can count on.
  • Team-First Culture: You'll work alongside skilled tradespeople and field leaders who take their craft seriously and treat every team member with respect.
  • Safe, Organized Sites: We run tight, clean job sites. You'll always know what's expected, where things are, and how to do your work safely.
  • Competitive Compensation Package: Hourly pay, overtime eligibility, health/dental/vision, 401k, PTO, and paid holidays (available for full-time employees).
  • Career Growth: We promote from within. Laborers who demonstrate reliability and skill have a clear path to foreman, superintendent, and beyond.

Essential Responsibilities
Site Labor & Material Handling
  • Load, unload, and distribute materials, tools, and equipment across the job site as directed.
  • Perform demolition, excavation support, concrete work, and other general construction tasks as assigned.
  • Assist skilled tradespeople with task preparation, tool staging, and on-site support to maximize their productivity.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and light equipment safely and in accordance with company protocols.

Site Cleanliness & Organization
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free job site at all times throughout the workday.
  • Remove construction debris and waste materials promptly and dispose of them in accordance with site procedures.
  • Stack, store, and secure materials and equipment in designated areas at the end of each shift.
  • Support site setup and breakdown tasks including fencing, signage, barricades, and temporary facilities.
  • Ensure tools and equipment are properly cleaned, inventoried, and returned to storage after use.

Trade Support & Communication
  • Follow direction from the Superintendent, Foreman, or lead tradesperson at all times without hesitation.
  • Communicate clearly and promptly with supervisors when work is complete, when issues arise, or when additional direction is needed.
  • Work collaboratively with crew members across all trades to maintain positive momentum on the job site.
  • Participate in pre-task planning discussions, toolbox talks, and site safety briefings.
  • Report any observed damage, missing equipment, or site security concerns to your supervisor immediately.

Safety & Site Management
  • Adhere to Miranda Construction's safety standards, OSHA regulations, and all site-specific safety requirements at all times.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) including hard hat, safety glasses, high-visibility vest, and steel-toed boots at all times on site.
  • Attend and actively participate in all safety meetings, toolbox talks, and job hazard analysis discussions.
  • Never perform work in conditions known to be unsafe; stop work and notify your supervisor immediately if hazards are identified.
  • Report all near-misses, incidents, and injuries immediately per Miranda Construction's incident reporting protocol.

Documentation & Reporting
  • Sign in and out accurately each day using the site's time-tracking system or as directed by your supervisor.
  • Document and report tool or equipment damage, shortages, or maintenance needs to the Superintendent promptly.
  • Complete any required safety forms, daily logs, or inspection checklists as directed by the project team.
  • Assist in daily project documentation in Procore including uploading progress photos, meeting minutes, and observations.

Secondary Responsibilities
  • Assist the Superintendent or Foreman with material tracking and inventory management as needed.
  • Support mobilization and demobilization efforts at the start and end of projects or project phases.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by site leadership to support project completion goals.

Qualifications
Required Experience & Education
  • Prior construction labor experience preferred; entry-level candidates with a strong work ethic will be considered.
  • Ability to safely operate common hand tools and power tools (drills, grinders, saws, etc.).
  • Basic understanding of construction site safety practices and willingness to follow all safety requirements.
  • Reliable transportation to and from assigned job sites; valid driver's license required.
