Job description

Great Plains Underground Construction is hiring a Seasonal Construction Laborer for our project working thru November 2026 season.
Based in Kearney, NE, you will travel weekly with our crew to build out critical fiber and utility infrastructure.
Comp & Perks
  • Pay: Up to $22.00 / hour (Based on experience)
  • Overtime: Plentiful weekly OT hours available
  • Travel 100% Covered: We pay for all overnight lodging
  • Daily Food Allowance: Per diem/meals are fully paid
  • Weekly Home Time: Travel is Monday through Friday; home on weekends

What You Will Do
  • Operate trenchers, backhoes, bulldozers, and skid loaders
  • Drive company construction tractors and trucks
  • Perform physical ground labor including digging and trenching
  • Frequently lift and move materials weighing up to 130 lbs
  • Work outdoors in diverse Midwest weather conditions

Requirements
  • Valid Driver's License (Clean driving record required)
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and background screen
  • Ability to travel overnight Monday - Friday
  • Physical stamina for heavy lifting and outdoor labor
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to safety
