Diagnostic Sonographer I (Breast Imaging / Mammography)
Location: Akron, OH (Akron Campus – Breast Center)
Facility: Healthcare Facility
Department: Breast Center
Job Type: Long-Term Contract (LTA)
Contract Duration: August 23, 2026 – November 21, 2026 (13 Weeks)
Shift: Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Hours: 40 Hours per Week

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Diagnostic Sonographer I to join our Breast Center team. The ideal candidate will perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations with a primary focus on breast imaging while ensuring exceptional patient care and adherence to departmental protocols.
 

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations utilizing advanced ultrasound equipment.
  • Produce accurate, high-quality imaging studies to assist physicians in diagnosis and treatment.
  • Specialize in breast ultrasound procedures while maintaining patient comfort and safety.
  • Review physician orders and patient history prior to examinations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and patient records.
  • Follow infection prevention, radiation safety, and departmental quality standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with radiologists, physicians, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Ensure equipment is maintained and functioning properly according to facility guidelines.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
  • Minimum 1 year of full-time experience in breast imaging/mammography-related sonography.
  • Current BLS (AHA) certification.
  • Current ARRT certification required.
  • Experience performing breast ultrasound examinations in a clinical setting.
  • Excellent communication, patient care, and organizational skills.
