Description
  • Process a variety of rejected deposit items, including NSF processing, unposted DDA items, stop payments, ACH error postings, Fed check returns, duplicate check presentments, and customer check encoding errors. Complete work accurately and within regulatory or bank procedural timeframes to minimize risk of loss to customers and the bank. Serve as a strong business partner to branch personnel when working through rejected item questions, research, and resolution.
  • Review suspected fraudulent checks, wires, and ACH transactions. Maintain records to help Deposit Operations monitor losses and identify fraud patterns. Complete each step accurately and on time to reduce risk to customers and the bank. Communicate with other financial institutions to support prompt recovery of fraudulent funds.
  • Develop ongoing management and board reporting of key fraud statistics, including key performance indicators and key risk indicators, to be utilized in monitoring operational losses, near misses and identifying the nature of fraud events.
  • Reconcile various general ledger and bank-use deposit accounts to identify missing transactions, out-of-balance conditions, or processing errors. Collaborate with the Finance team to resolve exceptions in a timely manner.
  • Investigate check adjustments reported by employees or received through FedLine Advantage and process corrections within established bank policy and procedural timeframes. Enter or verify large dollar notifications in FedLine by the applicable deadline and take appropriate action on accounts to help protect customers and the bank from possible loss.
  • Assist with rate and special exception requests from management and branch personnel. Maintain accurate records and ensure necessary maintenance is completed correctly to avoid customer or bank impact.
  • Respond to internal and external telephone and email inquiries. Research requests, provide solutions that comply with applicable regulations, and collaborate with others when additional information or assistance is needed.
  • Assist with other Deposit Operations duties as assigned and remain current on applicable processes, bank procedures, and bank policies. Provide back-up support as needed due to staffing levels, system irregularities, cross-training realignment, departmental projects, or emergencies. Interact constructively with coworkers by being cooperative and providing support and assistance to promote a positive work atmosphere and smooth department operations.

Requirements
  • Strong organizational, time management, problem-prevention, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate detailed information and instructions clearly and professionally.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn position-related systems and software.
  • Ability to effectively use general office equipment.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain professional conduct appropriate to the position.
  • High school diploma or equivalent educational experience.
  • Six or more months of job-related experience. (preferred)
