Job description

Position Summary:

Harris-Stowe State University’s Office of Communications & Marketing is seeking a full-time Web Content Migration Specialist to support the final stages of the University’s new website launch. Throughout this 6-month assignment, this role will focus primarily on migrating and restructuring existing website content from WordPress into Cascade CMS, ensuring that pages are properly formatted, accessible, and aligned with the University’s brand and website architecture. The specialist will collaborate with Communications & Marketing, IT, and campus partners to ensure a smooth and organized transition of content into the new website environment.


Key Responsibilities:

• Migrate existing website content from WordPress into Cascade CMS

• Format and publish pages according to the new website structure and templates

• Review migrated content for accuracy, formatting, accessibility, and brand consistency

• Update links, documents, images, and page components during migration

• Identify and flag outdated or duplicate content for revision or removal

• Conduct quality assurance reviews to ensure proper navigation, page layout, and functionality

• Assist with organizing academic program pages, department pages, and institutional content within Cascade

• Collaborate with the Communications & Marketing team to ensure messaging and web content reflect institutional priorities

• Assist with pre-launch site reviews and post-launch adjustments


Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Digital Media, Web Design, Marketing, or related field

• At least one year of experience working with website content management systems

• Experience using WordPress, Cascade CMS, or similar CMS platforms

• Strong writing and editing skills for digital content


Preferred Skills:

• Experience supporting website redesigns or CMS migrations

• Familiarity with Cascade CMS page editing and publishing workflows

• Basic knowledge of HTML and web accessibility standards (WCAG)

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Ability to manage multiple pages and deadlines during a large content migration project
