The UF Health Web Services team offers an ongoing paid internship tailored to candidates' skill levels and interests that can be taken for class credit. Our internship gives you an opportunity to learn at any stage of the development process.
Our internship is designed for experience. Whether it's improving internal documentation, conducting usability tests, or building a production-ready module or site feature, we'll give you a chance to learn at every stage of the development lifecycle. As part of our team, you'll collaborate on real systems that power UF Health:
- Departmental, academic and research sites built with WordPress Multisite.
- Directory, a comprehensive PHP application that serves information out to hundreds of internal sites.
- Our intranet site, Bridge, which serves an internal audience of 33,000 faculty, administrators and staff.
- Our organization's flagship site, UFHealth.org, which provides patient-centered information to over 12 million active users, annually.
We'll help you hone critical skills in technical writing, data analysis, and web development while you make meaningful contributions that serve our entire healthcare community.
But that's not all. As part of our team, you'll have access to top-tier development, design and content-strategy professionals providing enterprise-level service and support to one of Florida's premier academic health centers. You'll gain invaluable knowledge about development practices, adapting to a corporate culture, and other soft skills so important in today's marketplace. You'll also be party to team lunches, strategy retreats and other extracurricular activities.
Some past applications interns have developed and maintained:
- Media Tracking DB: used by UF Health Communications to track public relations work and equivalent ad value for media mentions and column inches.
- Social Media Portal: An online aggregate of all social media accounts for UF Health.
- Stale Content Detector: A WordPress plugin that automatically alerted site editors if content hadn't been updated in six months.
