Position Summary:

University Marketing and Communications is looking for a passionate, strategic storyteller who can create and manage compelling web content. Apply to our Web Content Strategist opening today!

The Web Content Specialist helps communicate the University of Dayton's distinctive stories and attributes - from faith and community to academics and experiential learning.

This position is responsible for writing and arranging content (text, photos, videos, stats, etc.) on the University's website and intranet in a way that is impactful and inspiring -- and drives user engagement. This is not a technical position; knowledge of HTML is *not* necessary. Rather, this position requires someone who can clearly and concisely communicate ideas, think creatively and strategically, organize content so it is meaningful and useful to our target audiences, and optimize content in light of emerging technologies like AI.

In partnership with colleagues across campus, the Web Content Specialist will ensure content on UD websites aligns with the University's strategic priorities, helps drive admissions efforts, engages alumni, encourages philanthropy, supports brand messaging and informs the campus community. This position will also identify ways to streamline web content and assist in executing the University's overall digital marketing strategy.

Inclusion and belonging are among the core values of the Division of University Marketing and Communications. We aim to authentically and intentionally represent all forms of diversity in the UD community in our marketing and communications.

The Web Content Specialist reports to the Associate Director of Web and Digital Marketing. Hybrid work arrangement is available.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree.
* Two years experience managing web or editorial content.
* Strong written communication skills, as demonstrated in writing samples.
* Strong attention to detail.
* Ability to engage audiences and communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely.
* Ability to shepherd projects from concept to completion.
* Time management skills, including the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

* Experience in higher education or an agency environment.
* Familiarity with web site best practices (e.g., for writing, page layout, calls to action, information architecture, image sizes, etc.).
* Knowledge of web content accessibility guidelines (e.g., WCAG).
* Knowledge of AEO best practices.
* Ability to generate innovative solutions to marketing and communication challenges.
* Ability to effectively develop collaborative partnerships.
* Experience with a content management system.
* Familiarity with Google Analytics.
* Ability to promote inclusive excellence in the workplace.
* Knowledge of and sensitivity to a Catholic, Marianist work environment.

Special Instructions to Applicants:

To apply please submit a cover letter addressing each minimum qualification and any applicable preferred qualifications that you meet.

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. The University does not provide work visa sponsorship for this position.

The application will request 3 examples of your storytelling, in any medium. (This could include but is not limited to samples of writing, examples of web pages you maintain, etc.)

Closing Statement:

Informed by its Catholic and Marianist mission, the University is committed to the dignity of every human being. Informed by this commitment, we seek to increase diversity in all of its forms, achieve fair outcomes, and model inclusion across our campus community. The University is committed to policies of affirmative action designed to increase the employment opportunities of individuals with disabilities and protected veterans in compliance with the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and Vietnam Era Veterans' Readjustment Assistance Act of 1973.
