Job description

The Director, Games Publisher Marketing will develop, own, and oversee the Red Bull North America Publisher Marketing program. Red Bull North America is upleveling connection with gaming publishers and developers, in order to integrate IP's and produce top marketing collaborations and activations - from esports league partnerships to non-competitive games. To help achieve boundary-pushing results, this role will work cross functionally across all marketing facets of the business to leverage the entirety of the Red Bull Marketing mix. The Director, Games Publisher Marketing will be the interface to such companies and will own the management and growth of this program in its entirety, from negotiations to project management.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Areas that play to your strengths
All the responsibilities we'll trust you with:
  • STRATEGY AND PLANNING
    Keep track of the global and national gaming and esports landscapes (i.e., relevant franchises and titles, viewership, industry trends, etc.)
    Own the entire funnel of Publisher Marketing for the USA market, on both competitive side (professional leagues) and non-competitive side (general gaming and entertainment), from mapping potential partners to executing the plan and activating the properties through projects that require project leadership and management
    Interface with the gaming publishers and developers, unfolding and negotiating IP integration, league partnerships, as well as cross opportunities and collaborations, such as content, advertising, consumer activations and retail campaigns, along with the respective internal stakeholders (Red Bull Media Network, Brand Marketing, Sales, etc.)
    Develop the national Publisher Marketing business plan and work closely with the 5 regions in the USA as they plan and execute their Publisher Marketing plans, briefing them, providing feedback and being the main point of contact for Publisher Marketing nationwide
    Keep sync with the Global HQ in Austria and make sure approach is streamlined for the USA market
    Manage and own the Gaming Publisher budget
    Partner with Red Bull Media Network to create content around the publishers' and developers' IP's
    Build and responsibly manage detailed project plans, budgets, and status updates across cross-functional teams for all Publisher projects and activations
    Act as primary liaison for Publisher program to ensure full visibility and alignment across all Red Bull stakeholders, third party partners, and vendors
  • PARTNERSHIP DEVELOPMENT
    Work closely with regional Gaming Marketing Managers to ensure our publisher partnerships are activated and leveraged in an authentic and impactful way
    Work closely with Legal to build contracts and negotiate Publisher collaboration agreements
    Define clear objectives, goals and KPI's for Publisher partnerships and keep track of overall program performance, activations, community impact, and media engagement
    Prospect new Publisher and IP collaborations
    Support and monitor games releases/esports events and related marketing campaigns or activations to enable success and ensure premium representation of the Red Bull brand
  • MARKETING OUTCOMES
    Develop and drive innovative Publisher projects and activations that establish Red Bull as an aspirational force and thought leader within gaming
    Create comprehensive branding and product integration solutions and guidelines for all games and leagues using new and innovative design and visibility formats
    Partner with content production, programming, and communications teams to develop story-driven media formats
    Collaborate with marketing, brand, sales, distribution, media, communications, content production, live event, and digital teams to develop and execute integrated consumer marketing campaigns related to publisher projects, competitions, and activations
    Leverage publishers IP's and activations to establish Red Bull as an authentic participant in non-competitive and competitive gaming activities
    Design and deploy activation guidelines, templates, and toolkits for use by regional teams to activate publishers' partnerships within local markets

EXPERIENCE

  • 8+ years of professional experience in Gaming, Entertainment, Sports, Technology or related
  • Understanding of the gaming landscape including relevant game titles and publishers/developers, community gatherings and conferences, industry players, gaming media, key events, and technology developments
  • Self-motivation, driven sense of ownership and accountability with keen ability to know what needs to be done
  • Creative thinker with proven ability to design, document, and efficiently communicate compelling Publisher program strategies, tactics and projects
  • Experience with the design and execution of negotiations, integrated Publishers, marketing campaigns and activations
  • Strong communication and project management skills with ability to drive planning, schedules, budgeting, resource management, collaboration, status reporting, and ultimately execute the plan across several stakeholders
  • Thrive in a fast paced and dynamic working environment
