Job description

ABC4 Utah is seeking a dynamic and motivated Content Producer to help drive content across television, digital, social media, and streaming platforms. This hybrid role combines the responsibilities of a newscast producer, digital news producer, assignment editor, and streaming content creator, making it ideal for a news-driven storyteller who thrives in a fast-paced newsroom environment.
The Content Producer will oversee daily news gathering, coordinate coverage with reporters and photojournalists, monitor breaking news, and help generate original content for News4Utah+, ABC4's streaming platform. They will also be trained as a traditional newscast producer to help back up the production of newscasts. They will also contribute to the creation of compelling, audience-focused content for broadcast, digital, and social media. This position is also responsible for developing and producing original video, podcast, and streaming content from concept to completion.
Key Responsibilities
  • Strive to be #1 on ABC4's television newscasts, digital and streaming platforms 24 hours/day
  • Report news quickly and accurately
  • Be able to craft original content that stands out from competition
  • Must be able to independently produce a television newscast to air on ABC4 news following training

Qualifications
  • Strong news judgment and ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Experience with video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Audition, or similar platforms.
  • Knowledge of social media strategy, SEO, audience analytics, and AP Style.
  • Comfortable conducting interviews and appearing on camera when needed.
  • Creative thinker with a finger on the pulse of entertainment, internet culture, and streaming trends.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and multitasking skills.
