Job description

As a Wealth Planning Consultant, Specialist with Vanguard, you'll be part of a team within the Advice and Wealth Management (AWM) division advising our ultra-high net worth clients and their families through their unique and complex investment journeys by providing them with advanced estate planning, income tax and financial planning analysis. You will be a trusted advisor, bringing education and world-class client experience to the client, playing an instrumental role in making sure the assets our clients have worked hard to accumulate benefit the people or organizations they care about the most.

This role will be within the Advice and Wealth Management division assisting our ultra-high-net-worth clients with planning and strategy in the areas of income tax, advanced estate planning, and financial planning.

Responsibilities

  • Provide income tax, estate planning, and/or wealth planning consultations to Vanguard advised clients.

  • Review client's information and relevant documentation, research client issues, perform analysis to provide suggested solutions, and create client deliverables.

  • Support wealth and estate planning crew who provide consultations to Vanguard's largest net worth clients within advice offer.

  • Partner with financial advisors as they support clients in these subject areas and follow Vanguard's investment methodology.

  • Serve as an internal and external subject matter expert on wealth planning topics. Assist in developing financial planning methodology for Vanguard's advice offer.

  • Analyze internal systems and processes to identify opportunities to improve the client experience and mitigate risk.

  • Maintain strong knowledge of compliance, regulatory, and departmental policies and procedures, as well as general market trends.

  • Support department and team initiatives.

  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree required. Graduate degree (JD, MBA, Master of Tax) or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

  • Minimum of five years related work experience in a related field and two years of project management experience preferred.

  • Experience in financial services encouraged.

  • CFP, CPA, and/or active Law License preferred.

Other Considerations

  • Candidates must be able to commute to Scottsdale, AZ office, Charlotte, NC, or Malvern, PA offices for a hybrid three-day in office work schedule. If located in an office other than Scottsdale, AZ, the candidate must be willing to support the AZ time zone. Relocation assistance may be available for the right candidate.

  • Travel will be required to Vanguard offices for training, offsites, or client meetings in other locations. Travel for these purposes is anticipated to be not more than 20%. If located in an office other than Scottsdale, AZ, the candidate may need to travel more frequently to visit the AZ office regularly.

  • Experience working remotely with demonstration of the ability to work independently while being a contributing member of a team is preferred as the schedule will be hybrid with two days remote.
