About the Opportunity

We’re partnering with a growing wealth management organization looking for a Director of Financial Planning to help rebuild and expand its advanced planning function.

This is a high-visibility role for a CFP professional who can confidently support financial advisors, work directly with clients, handle complex planning needs, and help shape how the department grows.

The right person will be polished, technical, proactive, and excited by the chance to build something meaningful instead of simply maintaining an existing process.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Partner directly with the Head of Advanced Planning to help grow and improve the planning department.
  • Support advisors and clients with advanced planning across retirement, tax, estate, investment, insurance, and risk topics.
  • Build financial plans using MoneyGuidePro, eMoney, RightCapital, Holistiplan, or similar tools.
  • Present recommendations clearly to advisors, clients, and internal leadership.
  • Create planning resources, presentations, whitepapers, and client-facing deliverables.
  • Help improve planning processes, evaluate technology, and identify ways AI can support the planning function.
  • Influence advisors to better leverage the planning department as a trusted internal resource.
  • Supervise one team member initially, with room for the team to grow.
What They’re Looking For
  • CFP highly preferred
  • 7+ years of financial planning experience.
  • Experience supporting advisors, clients, or high-net-worth planning cases.
  • Experience with $10M+ net worth clients preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of retirement, tax, estate, investment, insurance, and risk planning.
  • Hands-on experience with planning software and strong Excel modeling skills.
  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to earn trust quickly.
  • A proactive “figure it out and get it done” mindset.
Why You’ll Love It There

This is a rare opportunity to step into a role where your work will directly shape the future of the planning department. You’ll have visibility, ownership, leadership access, and the ability to make a real impact on advisors, clients, tools, processes, and long-term department growth.

Employees will appreciate:
  • $125,000-$160,000+ salary potential
  • 20% bonus opportunity
  • Remote Fridays
  • High visibility with senior leadership
  • Opportunity to build and improve a growing department
  • Exposure to advanced planning and high-net-worth client work
  • A role where creativity, ownership, and initiative are valued
