We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team as an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON). This is an exciting opportunity to grow your leadership skills while making a meaningful impact alongside a strong, supportive leadership team led by Ebony, our Director of Nursing-and we'd be even better with you!
Position Summary
The ADON serves as a key clinical and operational leader within the facility. This role supports the Director of Nursing in overseeing daily nursing operations, staffing, regulatory compliance, infection prevention programs, and quality improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate is a confident RN leader with long-term care experience who is adaptable, approachable, and committed to continuous improvement. You will play a critical role in ensuring high-quality resident care, supporting staff development, and promoting a positive, solutions-focused culture.
Clinical & Operational Leadership
  • Assist the DON in managing day-to-day nursing department operations
  • Supervise nursing staff and provide clinical guidance and support
  • Oversee staffing, scheduling, workflow, and unit performance
  • Participate in care planning and interdisciplinary team meetings
  • Monitor resident outcomes, quality measures, and regulatory compliance
  • Ensure accurate, timely documentation and reporting
  • Participate in clinical leadership on-call rotation
Staff Development
  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and staff evaluations
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback
  • Support disciplinary processes as needed
  • Promote teamwork and a positive work environment
Infection Prevention & Quality Assurance
  • Develop, implement, and monitor infection prevention and control programs (CDC, OSHA, and state guidelines)
  • Conduct infection surveillance, audits, and trend analysis
  • Investigate outbreaks and implement corrective actions
  • Provide ongoing staff education on infection control, PPE use, and outbreak response
  • Collaborate with housekeeping, dietary, and clinical teams to maintain a safe and sanitary environment
Qualifications
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Wisconsin
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory or leadership experience in long-term care (required)
  • Experience in Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) / Long-Term Care (LTC) required
  • Infection Preventionist certification preferred or willingness to obtain
  • Strong knowledge of infection control standards and nursing best practices
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
