We are looking for a Senior Data Governance Analyst to join our team of thinkers and doers
If you are passionate about data governance, collaborating with others and strategizing for the future we would love to hear from you. The Data Governance Analyst is primarily responsible for the development and execution of a responsive, org-wide data governance framework that supports the full data lifecycle. The incumbent in this position will partner effectively across teams and functions to implement policies, ensure data quality and compliance, and promote consistent data practices.
What You'll do
Data Governance
Leads implementation of the data governance operating model, managing data and change requests across the organization. Implements and maintains data governance policies, best practices, and data quality standards. Develops and oversees data stewardship processes to ensure high-quality, well-documented datasets. Ensures the scope of data governance initiatives align with enterprise strategy and priorities.
Technical + Advisory Support
Works collaboratively to define policies and ensure regulatory and organizational compliance. Provides training and support to teams on data governance practices and data management protocols. Builds data governance methodologies, incorporating enterprise and legal requirements for data privacy and protection.
Process Management + Documentation
Collaborates with internal analysts and teams to ensure governed and reliable data assets without owning analytics directly. Acts as a liaison across departments to translate data needs and collaboratively define requirements that ensure processes work across systems. Supports enterprise-wide efforts to align metadata, data lineage, and data sharing processes.

Requirements
What Makes you a great fit:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information management, or related fields and/or equivalent related work experience.
  • Seven or more years of progressive responsibility with data management, including four or more years of experience with data governance management and related disciplines such as metadata management, data quality, and/or data stewardship.
  • Demonstrated knowledge with data cataloging, data quality management, and data lineage.
  • Proficient (written and verbal) in English.

Demonstrated experience implementing, and managing an organizational data governance program, including the development of policies, procedures, and frameworks to ensure data quality, integrity, privacy, and compliance across systems and departments.
Travel Requirements
  • Up to 5% of domestic travel required.

Salary/Benefits
This position offers a base salary range of $85,000-$100,000. Base salary may be flexible based on skills, certifications, location and/or qualifications. In addition, this position offers participation in benefits programs provided by Water.org for the benefit of its employees if you meet the eligibility criteria. Based on the planned schedule for this role, currently, these benefits include paid time off, holidays, medical, dental, vision, life, long and short-term disability and our retirement program. This position is ineligible to participate in our annual incentive plan.
