Job description

We have a job opening and exciting opportunity for a full-time Vice President of Operations (Supply Chain) in any of our Concordance locations or fully remote. The Vice President of Operations is a key leadership position responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing warehouse distribution operations across the organization. This role requires close collaboration with Regional Directors to ensure the development and implementation of efficient and cost-effective operational systems that align with the organization's strategic goals and adapt to its future needs. The Vice President of Operations also plays a critical role in guiding the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) team, ensuring that comprehensive safety protocols are established, communicated, and strictly followed to maintain a safe working environment. Additionally, this position involves monitoring performance metrics, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and fostering a culture of operational excellence and safety throughout the organization. The Vice President of Operations must possess strong leadership, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills to effectively manage these responsibilities and contribute to the organization's overall success.
Essential Functions:
  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight for all distribution, logistics, and operational functions across multiple healthcare facilities and distribution centers.
  • Develop, implement, and communicate operational strategies aligned with organizational growth objectives, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Lead end-to-end supply chain operations, including procurement, inventory management, warehousing, transportation, and fulfillment of medical supplies and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and standards, including FDA, and OSHA.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate operational performance, service levels, and customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee inventory control processes to ensure accuracy, minimize waste, and maintain appropriate stock levels for critical medical supplies.
  • Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant order fulfillment to healthcare providers, hospitals, and clinics.
  • Partner with executive leadership to develop and manage operational budgets, forecasts, cost containment strategies, and long-term planning initiatives.
  • Provide oversight and guidance on departmental budgets, cost estimates, staffing requirements, and capital investments.
  • Present performance reports, metrics, and operational insights to the Chief Operating Officer and executive leadership.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing operations leadership team, including Regional Directors and site leadership across multiple locations.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources to recruit, hire, train, and evaluate management-level staff.
  • Provide coaching, succession planning, and leadership development to strengthen organizational capability.
  • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement across all operational functions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with procurement, finance, sales, regulatory, and other departments to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Manage relationships with key vendors, suppliers, and third-party logistics providers to ensure reliability, performance, and cost efficiency.
  • Establish and implement operational policies, procedures, standards, and security measures to ensure consistent execution and compliance.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement new processes, technologies, and systems to improve operational efficiency and scalability.
  • Lead the implementation and optimization of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, and other technologies.
  • Oversee risk management, safety programs, and business continuity planning to ensure preparedness for supply chain disruptions and public health emergencies.
  • Maintain knowledge of emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in operations and healthcare distribution.
  • Travel up to 75% to support multi-site operations, leadership alignment, and performance optimization.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You will Need to be Successful:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Engineering, or other industry-related field required.
  • At least ten (10) years of industry-related experience including three years in upper management required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of the principles, procedures, and best practices in the industry.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Strong leadership to drive empowered, accountable culture, and lead others through change.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Successfully pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check and drug screening.

Work Location:
  • This role is located in any of our Concordance locations or fully remote.

Compensation: $150,000.00-$198,000.00 salaried
