Role Overview
This roleย provides enterprise-wide legal, regulatory, compliance, risk management, litigation,ย and corporateย transactional support. This position partners closely withย the General Counsel,ย Deputy General Counsel, and SVP โ€“ Risk Managementย toย identify, assess, and mitigate risk while enabling business growth, operational excellence, and strategic initiatives.ย 
Key Responsibilities:ย 
Litigationย &ย Riskย 
  • Overseeย litigationย andย dispute resolution,ย includingย management ofย outside counsel, case strategy, mediation, and arbitration proceedings.ย 
  • Overseeย EPL, D&O, Coverage Disputes, and GL claims,ย and provideย support and coverage on GL/PL claims.ย ย 
  • Serve as a member of the Security Committee andย adviseย managementย regardingย legal,ย regulatory, and operational risksย across the portfolio.ย 
  • Provide strategic legalย and risk mitigation supportย to Human Resourcesย on workforce matters, includingย investigations, separations, restrictive covenants,ย andย employment litigation.ย 
  • Track andย reportย onย risk trends and mitigation strategies.ย 
Compliance & Ethicsย 
  • Oversee the implementation and continuous improvement of corporate compliance programs, policies, procedures, controls, training, and reporting mechanisms.ย ย 
  • Advise onย data governance, cybersecurity, and emerging technology matters, including implementation of applicable state and federal requirements and related governance frameworks.ย 
  • Advise onย compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.ย 
  • Oversee senior housing regulatory and compliance matters, including licensing and reporting.ย 
Corporate Transactionsย &ย Legal Operationsย 
  • Provide legalย support forย corporateย and capital marketsย transactions, includingย diligence, negotiation, transaction documentation, disclosures,ย andย regulatory analysis.ย ย 
  • Develop scalable processes, templates, and playbooks to improve transaction execution and support increased deal volume.ย 
  • Oversee implementation and management of legal systems and software.ย 
Position Requirements
  • J.D.ย from an accredited U.S. law schoolย and active bar membershipย 
  • 10+ years of legal experienceย 
  • Significant experienceย at a major law firm and/orย in-houseย legal departmentย 
  • Experienceย identifyingย legal and operational risks and developing practical, business-oriented solutionsย 
  • Strong commercial litigation, compliance,ย risk management, transactional,ย and employmentย experienceย ย 
  • Demonstrated ability to independently lead sophisticated legal mattersย in a fast-paced environmentย ย 
  • Experience managing outside counsel and legal budgetsย 
  • Excellent business judgment and executive presence, including experience advising senior legal teamsย ย 
  • Ability to partner effectively withย Risk Management,ย HRย and business leaders
  • Salary range of $225k โ€“ $275k plus generous cash incentives
