Overview

POSITION SUMMARYThe Vice President of Revenue Cycle Operations provides strategic leadership for MB2’s enterprise revenue cycle functions, driving collections performance, cash flow, accounts receivable management, payer outcomes, and the patient financial experience across the entire enterprise, regardless of centralized support level, while effectuating labor efficiency at revenue cycle home office departments. This leader partners with Operations, Finance, Credentialing, Integration, Payer Strategy, Procurement, Technology, and other support teams to standardize processes, strengthen accountability, support growth initiatives, and improve efficiency, innovation, and financial outcomes for MB2 practice. Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute the long-term vision, strategy, and operational roadmap for Revenue Cycle Operations, pioneering innovation while leading change management among constituents and stakeholders.
  • Establish enterprise goals, KPIs, and performance standards aligned with MB2 financial objectives.
  • Partner with executive leadership to improve collections, reduce write-offs, accelerate cash conversion, and maximize practice profitability.
  • Support acquisitions, Denovos, specialty expansion, integrations, and practice transitions.
  • Serve as business owner for revenue cycle, insurance operations, and patient collection vendors in partnership with Operations for the MB2 Enterprise.

Revenue Cycle Operations

  • Provide executive oversight of the complete revenue cycle, including: verification, eligibility, pre-authorizations, and treatment estimate accuracy
  • Claims management, payment posting, insurance follow-up, denial prevention, and appeals
  • Patient billing and collections, credit balances, refunds, revenue integrity, and coding compliance efficiency and results.
  • Develop scalable workflows, policies, and procedures that drive consistency and operational excellence across supported practices.

Financial Performance & Analytics

  • Own enterprise revenue cycle metrics, reporting, forecasting, and dashboards.
  • Monitor collections, net collection rate, accounts receivable aging, denial rates, underpayments, patient collections, productivity, and related indicators.
  • Use data to identify trends, operational gaps, payer opportunities, and process improvements.
  • Deliver actionable recommendations to executive leadership, Finance, and Operations. '

Payer Strategy & Reimbursement

  • Partner closely with Payer Strategy and Credentialing teams to optimize reimbursement outcomes and network participation.
  • Identify reimbursement trends, contract opportunities, and payer-specific challenges affecting practice performance.
  • Lead initiatives that improve claim acceptance rates, reduce denial volume, and strengthen payer relationships.
  • Ensure operational alignment between credentialing activities and revenue cycle performance.

Technology & Process Improvement

  • Evaluate, implement, and optimize revenue cycle systems, automation tools, analytics platforms, and AI-enabled solutions.
  • Improve workflow efficiency, accuracy, data integrity, and labor expense management across revenue cycle operations.

Team Leadership

  • Recruit, develop, mentor, and retain high-performing revenue cycle leaders and team members.
  • Build a culture of accountability, service excellence, continuous improvement, and professional development.
  • Set clear expectations, support succession planning, and partner with Operations to educate practice teams on revenue cycle best practices.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state regulations, payer requirements, privacy standards, and company policies.
  • Maintain robust internal controls, auditing practices, and documentation standards.
  • Monitor industry changes and implement operational adjustments as needed.
  • Lead revenue cycle risk assessment and mitigation efforts.

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Accounting, or related field and/or 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare or dental revenue cycle management.
  • Experience leading multi-site revenue cycle operations within a Dental Service Organization (DSO), healthcare services organization, 3rd-party revenue cycle management company, or other large-scale healthcare environment.
  • Demonstrated success improving collections, reducing AR aging, increasing reimbursement performance, and scaling operational processes.
  • Deep knowledge of dental insurance claims management, reimbursement methodologies, patient collections, and revenue integrity.
  • Advanced proficiency with analytics, KPI reporting, and performance management.

Preferred

  • Experience supporting rapid-growth organizations, mergers and acquisitions, or integration activities.
  • Experience implementing revenue cycle technology, automation platforms, and AI-enabled solutions.
  • Knowledge of dental practice management platforms and enterprise financial systems.
