Position Overview
As an IT Intern in our Information Technology department, you'll support the IT team through special projects and general administrative and technical tasks. You'll report to the Network Administrator and work closely with the IT team to help maintain reliable systems and deliver responsive helpdesk support.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you'll contribute to daily IT operations and service by:
- Answering user helpdesk requests, tracking queue progress, and following issues through resolution
- Supporting the integrity, reliability, and dependability of network infrastructure
- Assisting with updates on computers, software, and peripheral equipment
- Helping administer communication systems, including e-mail, telephony, and mobile devices
- Working with vendors to secure site and workstation equipment
- Assisting the Network Administrator and Sr. VP of IT with special projects as needed
- Completing other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or GED
- Actively pursuing a bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) with a GPA of 3.0 or higher
Skills and Knowledge
- Math skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals; compare rate, ratio, and percentages; interpret basic graphs
- Reasoning skills: Ability to carry out detailed written or oral instructions with common sense understanding; solve problems involving few variables in standardized situations
- Computer skills: Beginner to intermediate experience with Exchange Server, routers and switches, Windows Server, Windows Clients, Citrix, MS Office, Symantec, Internet Explorer (or similar), and backup execution
