Job description

Job Purpose:
- The Vice President of Management Information Systems (MIS) provides strategic leadership and operational oversight of all information technology services and infrastructure across LifeStream Behavioral Center. This includes management implementation of secure digital solutions, data governance, and operational modernization. The VP ensures the security, efficiency, and reliability of technology services while spearheading innovation that aligns with organizational goals, clinical excellence, and compliance standards.


Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic vision and executive leadership in the planning, implementation, and maintenance of all information systems, including core business applications.
- Partnership with VP of Quality Improvement and continuously improve the EHR platform (e.g., SmartCare), ensuring it supports documentation integrity, billing accuracy, regulatory compliance, and clinical workflow efficiency.
- Partner with Quality, Risk, Compliance, and Clinical Leadership to ensure system functionality aligns with audit readiness, incident reporting, data analytics, and medical records integrity.
- Direct all cybersecurity initiatives to safeguard patient information, ensure HIPAA compliance, and defend against emerging threats through technical safeguards and staff education.
- Develop and lead a comprehensive IT modernization roadmap that supports secure mobile access, automation, cloud computing, interoperability, and telehealth expansion.
- Partner with VP of Quality Improvement regarding EHR system upgrades, training, and optimization projects in alignment with clinical and operational needs.
- Ensure high availability of IT systems through strong business continuity planning, disaster recovery architecture, and technical redundancy.
- Monitor and enforce vendor contract compliance, service-level agreements (SLAs), and procurement efficiency for all IT services and products.

Required Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Health Informatics, or related field required. Master’s Degree in Information Systems, Health Administration, or Business Administration is highly preferred.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of eight (8) years' experience working within health care IT, including 3 + years in a senior leadership role.
- Experience with EHR platforms (e.g. SmartCare, Epic, Netsmart) highly preferred
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to address complex system challenges.
- Proficiency in developing and implementing IT strategies that enhance organizational performance.
- Knowledge of current trends and advancements in information technology, particularly in healthcare systems.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
