ABOUT THE POSITION

Oversees all aspects of the Credit Unions deposit-related activities and back-end operations. This senior role optimizes the processes of member deposits, ensures regulatory compliance, enhances operational efficiency and collaborates with other   departments to improve member experience. The SVP is responsible for implementing strategic initiatives to drive growth in deposits, manages risks and functions of daily operations. This individual will have extensive experience with the administration of retirement plans and in-depth knowledge of the rules and regulations of IRAs, HSAs, and Coverdell ESAs. Negotiates contracts with vendors and performs due diligence. Ensures goals are established, communicated, and met while maintaining world-class member service. 


NORMAL DAY-TO-DAY WORK

  1. Drive and execute the operations and products vision, strategy and roadmap. Ensure products features (checking, saving accounts, CDโ€™s etc.) align with business objectives. Analyze operational data to identify trends to better make strategic decisions. 
  2. Supervise, direct and control the activities of Operations Support, and Deposit Operations. Ensure a trained, motivated and professional staff capable of providing efficient and effective services to Credit Union members. 
  3. Monitor operations products and services offered (e.g., IRA contributions and distributions required minimum distributions and tax reporting; tax attachments (e.g., garnishments, levies); subpoenas; member account fraud; and deceased member processes including reclamations, review of approval of probate documentation (e.g., Letters of Testamentary, Letters of Administration, Spousal Allowance) and the appropriate distribution and closure of accounts).
  4. Oversee operations applications and provide direction as it relates to item   processing, exception processing, non-post, stop pays, and NSF items related to deposit operations including ACH, checks, RDC, bill pay, P2P, wires, and Regulation D.
  5. Ensure that all activities comply with banking regulations (such as BSA/AML, Reg D, Reg CC, etc.) and identifying risks in deposit operations. Proactively identify and mitigate operational risks, ensuring regulatory compliance. 
  6. Oversee all aspects of daily operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, compliance and adherence to best practices.
  7. Responsible for innovation, development, administration and delivery of efficient and effective services including policies, procedures, processes, operations, compliance, and business goals. Research, recommend and implement operational policies   and programs. Conduct analysis to measure the results of feature deployments to quantify the business benefit/impact and identify further business opportunities.
  8. Partner closely on all aspects of product delivery with designers, engineers, project management and other teams to develop and implement a project plan for operations technologies and products. Work with Communications Staff to develop informational and   accurate descriptions of products/services offered and the benefits to the members.

  10. Serve as the primary liaison to third party vendors that assist in the delivery of operation services to the   Credit Union. 
  11. Develop proposals for policies, programs and new products and services for the Operations Management Committee of the Credit Union Board of Directors to gain approval.
  12. Review performance against operating plans and standards. Provide reports to Executive Management on the interpretation of results and recommends changes in direction as appropriate, including cost control reports.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Here are a few skills you MUST have to be qualified for this position.

  1. Bachelorโ€™s  degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related filed. MBA  or advanced degree preferred.
  2. Extensive experience (minimum of 12 years) in financial services, including 7-9 years of  management experience.
  3. Strong knowledge of deposit operations and various financial products, including  IRAs, HSAs, Coverdell ESAs, including the rules and regulations surrounding  these products.
  4. In depth knowledge of contact center best practices, industry trends and emerging  technologies that can be used to improve the member experience.
  5. Thorough understanding of regulatory compliance and quality assurance within contact  center operations.
  6. Ability to function in a Consumer business office environment and utilize standard office equipment including but not limited to: PC, copier, telephone, etc.
  7. Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs. (file boxes, computer).
  8. Travel required on occasion.
