Are you ready to shape the future of work at the intersection of human expertise and AI innovation? At Cvent, we're committed to continuous learning and adaptation-AI isn't just a tool for us, it's part of our DNA. We're looking for candidates who are eager to evolve alongside technology. If you love to experiment boldly, share your discoveries, and help define best practices for AI-augmented work, you'll thrive here. Our team values professionals who thoughtfully integrate AI into their daily work, delivering exceptional results while relying on the human judgment and creativity that drive real innovation.
Throughout our interview process, you'll have the chance to demonstrate how you use AI to learn, iterate, and amplify your impact. If you're excited to be part of a team that's leading the way in AI-powered collaboration, we'd love to meet you.
The Senior Vice President/Vice President, Corporate Development will own the strategy, negotiation, execution, and integration of mergers, acquisitions, and strategic investments. This executive will define and drive the company's M&A roadmap, from thesis through integration, and will build a repeatable, AI-powered deal and integration engine that supports our long-term growth strategy.
This role is highly visible and cross-functional, working closely with the CEO, CFO, executive team, and senior leaders across Product, Technology, Finance, Go-to-Market, and People teams.
This role must be based at our Tysons, VA Headquarters.
In This Role, You Will:
Lead M&A Strategy & Pipeline
  • Define and continuously update the M&A strategy and investment thesis aligned to corporate priorities.
  • Build and manage a data- and AI-driven pipeline of targets, partnerships, and investments.
  • Use AI-powered market and competitive intelligence to identify and prioritize high-potential opportunities.

Oversee Deal Evaluation & Execution
  • Lead end-to-end deal execution: outreach, valuation, due diligence, structuring, negotiation, and close.
  • Apply AI- and model-driven analysis to assess scenarios, synergies, and risks.
  • Coordinate internal stakeholders and external advisors (banking, legal, tax, accounting, technical).

Drive Integration & Value Realization
  • Own the post-merger integration strategy and operating model for each transaction.
  • Stand up and run cross-functional integration governance (workstreams, timelines, decision forums).
  • Use AI, analytics, and standardized playbooks to track integration KPIs and drive synergy realization.
  • Act as the single accountable owner across M&A and integration workstreams.
  • Partner with Product, Technology, Finance, Sales, Marketing, CS, HR, Legal, and IT to plan and execute integrations.

Here's What You Need:
  • 20+ years in corporate development, investment banking, private equity, strategy, or related fields, with meaningful technology/SaaS exposure.
  • Proven track record leading multiple end-to-end M&A transactions in a highly acquisitive environment.
  • Experience with post-merger integration and value realization, not just deal close.
  • Hands-on familiarity with AI/analytics tools for market intelligence, modeling, and/or integration management.
  • Strong financial, strategic, and operational acumen; able to translate complex analysis into clear recommendations.
  • Executive presence and influencing skills; comfortable engaging with C-level leaders and Boards.
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
