Job Position: Senior Accountant

Job Location: Clearwater, FL - In Office


PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

We are seeking a driven Senior Accountant to join our growing finance team in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This is an exceptional opportunity for a Big 4 or top-tier public accounting professional ready to make their first move into the private sector. You will have direct exposure to senior leadership, meaningful ownership from day one, and a front-row seat to building scalable processes within a high-growth, multi-entity insurance organization. If you are a strong technical accountant who thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants to do more than just close the books, this role is for you.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

Own the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis

Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP

Lead technical accounting research and document positions on complex transactions relevant to the insurance industry

Support external audit coordination, serving as a primary liaison

Assist in the development and maintenance of internal controls

Partner with FP&A, Tax, and business units to provide accurate and timely financial data

Play an active role in building and improving scalable accounting processes and infrastructure as the company grows

Support M&A due diligence and integration activities, with direct exposure to senior leadership throughout

Requirements

3-4 years of experience, including at least 2 years in public accounting at a Big 4 or comparable national firm (RSM, BDO, Grant Thornton, Forvis Mazars, Crowe or CohnReznick) 

Ideal candidate is currently at the Senior Associate level and looking to make their first transition into a high-growth private company environment

CPA license or active CPA candidate (completed exam sections a plus)

Insurance industry experience preferred; familiarity with statutory accounting principles (QB/SAP/Netsuite) a plus

Strong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP required; exposure to ASC 606 revenue recognition concepts preferred

Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines

Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills

Experience working with accounting and financial reporting systems preferred; ability to learn new systems quickly required

Advanced Excel skills required
