Job description

Greenfield Engineering, a Saalex Companyย is seekingย Junior Software Developerย inย Patuxent River, MD to support mission-critical DoD programs through the design, development, testing, and maintenance of software solutions. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in computer science, hands-on development experience, and familiarity with Agile methodologies to contribute to secure, scalable applications in a collaborative environment.

Position Type:ย Full-Time

Salary:ย $75k-$85k annually (depending on experience)
Work Location:ย Onsite.

Essential Functions:

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications using modern programming practices
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code in C# and other object-oriented languages
  • Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives
  • Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects to ensure system reliability and performance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and implement technical solutions
  • Support system enhancements by adding new features and optimizing existing functionality
  • Contribute to software testing efforts, including unit testing and integration testing
  • Assist with version control, build pipelines, and deployment activities
  • Other duties as assigned or required

Requirements

Required:

  • Experience developing in C#
  • Experience working in an Agile environment (Scrum or similar)
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Experience with debugging, testing, and maintaining applications

Desired:

  • Experience with Python, Java, or JavaScript
  • Exposure to cloud technologies (AWS preferred)
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, or Jenkins
  • Experience with web development frameworks (React, Flask, Spring Boot)
  • Knowledge of databases (SQL or NoSQL)

Education/Years of Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Engineering discipline (must be a completed, accredited degree) required.
  • 1-3 years of relevant professional or internship experience in software development

Security Clearance:

ย Active Secret clearance required. Requirements to obtain a clearance include US Citizenship, security investigation, etc.
