Unlike full-time testers, per diem testers are typically paid daily or hourly and may work irregular hours depending on the project's needs. They are often brought in during peak development phases or for specific testing cycles to supplement in-house teams. This role requires strong attention to detail, familiarity with various testing tools, and the ability to quickly adapt to different software environments.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a per diem software tester?

To thrive as a Per Diem Software Tester, you need a solid understanding of software testing methodologies, attention to detail, and often a background in computer science or a related field. Familiarity with tools such as Selenium, Jira, and test management systems, as well as ISTQB certification, are typically advantageous.
