Job Summary/Description:
WAND News is looking for a high-performing journalist to join our trendy morning news team. This person will anchor morning news on a variety of platforms, transition between having a morning vibe and being trustworthy and serious when the situation calls for it, and be willing to get off the desk to find stories across Central Illinois.
Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Anchor newscasts on TV and digital platforms
- Compellingly deliver news stories, but also have morning vibes
- Interact with other team members on-air
- Bring unique story ideas to editorial meetings
- Curate compelling stories for air
- Work with producers to build newscasts and fill in when necessary
- Use social media to tell stories, break news, and connect with the community
- Build sources and contacts in the community
- Work with reporters, photographers, and editors to tell stories, share ideas, and enhance teamwork
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Do you have 1 to 2 years of anchoring experience?
-Do you have 2 to 3 years of newsroom experience?
