Join the Greater St. Louis Area Scouting team for a dynamic internship experience that will propel your professional development and provide invaluable insights into the rewarding field of non-profit leadership.
About Us:
Greater St. Louis Area Scouting is a vibrant 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to shaping future leaders through character development and community engagement. We're offering a unique internship program designed to immerse you in the heart of our operations, providing hands-on experience and mentorship from seasoned professionals.
Your Mission, Should You Choose to Accept It:
As an intern, you'll be more than just an observer. You'll be an integral part of our team, working alongside experienced Scouters to:
  • Gain firsthand knowledge of the non-profit sector and the impact of our programs.
  • Hone your communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
  • Assist with program development, fundraising initiatives, marketing campaigns, and more.
  • Receive personalized mentorship and guidance from experienced professionals.
  • Fulfill your high school, college, or university internship requirements (12-16 weeks).

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Collaborating with a professional Scouter for approximately 20 hours per week.
  • Documenting your learning journey through weekly activity logs.
  • Participating in mid-term and final evaluations with your mentor.
  • Attending meetings, training, and activities to explore diverse career paths within Scouting.
  • Completing assigned projects and tasks.
  • Becoming a member of Scouting America and upholding the Scout Oath and Law.

Qualifications:
  • High School diploma, college students, recent graduates, or currently enrolled high school junior or senior.
  • A genuine interest in the non-profit sector and/or Scouting America.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Prior non-profit experience or coursework in fundraising, management, or marketing (a plus!).
  • Strong organizational, self-motivation, and teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A commitment to the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
  • Reliable transportation is required.
  • Schedule and hours are negotiable.
