About The Job

Title: Interior Designer

Location: St. Petersburg, FL - In-Office

Department: Design 


We are seeking a creative, detail-oriented Interior Designer with at least 2 years of experience and a passion for transforming spaces into functional, beautiful environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of design principles, color theory, and the ability to bring innovative ideas to life. The interior designer will be part of the design team and will collaborate with project managers, contractors, and the procurement team. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, proactive team player who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. 


Only applicants who can reliably commute to our office in St. Petersburg, FL, 4 days a week will be considered.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct Target Market Research based on the location of the property.
  • Create Mood Boards that reflect the Target Market Research. 
  • Develop a full house design that reflects the client's mood board and vision while adhering to budget constraints.
  • Utilize software such as Chief Architect and Canva to create detailed mood boards, design plans, and presentations.
  • Select appropriate materials, furnishings, colors, and finishes that align with the overall design concept.
  • Conduct design revisions and updates to ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Assist with design projects to ensure deadlines are met. 
  • Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring each client receives a personalized and seamless experience throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate closely with the project management team and construction partners to consistently exceed client expectations and deliver outstanding results.
  • Stay current on best practices and develop new strategies to improve design creativity and effectiveness. 
  • Assist in staging local homes as needed for listing photos, ensuring properties are visually appealing and market-ready.
  • Other duties as assigned.


 Experience & Background

  • A bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or a related field is preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in interior design. 
  • Experience working in Chief Architect, Canva, Google Slides, or similar software.
  • Strong understanding of design styles, color theory, and its application in interior spaces.
  • Experience in budgeting for projects and managing costs effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills with a focus on client interaction and sales capabilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
  • A portfolio showcasing prior interior design work is required for consideration.
  • Relevant work experience and education may be accepted in lieu of specific experience and background.

  • You are a quick learner, pick up new software quickly, and can constantly adapt to changes in platforms and technologies. 
  • Possess a strong understanding of Airbnb design principles and trends to optimize properties for short-term rentals and enhance guest experiences.
  • Current with the latest design trends and industry developments to ensure innovative and on-trend solutions for clients.
  • Effective time management, organization, and prioritization skills with the ability to focus on varied projects simultaneously. 
  • Resourceful and able to work independently with initiative and good judgment.
  • Able to identify problems, research alternatives, provide solutions, and/or resolve issues promptly.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights.
  • You are a self-starter who can independently meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • You take accountability for the things you say you’ll do, under-promise and over-deliver.
  • Possess a team-first mentality with an upbeat and optimistic attitude.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work flexible hours and/or extended hours as needed to accommodate client and project needs as well as team members and projects in multiple time zones. 
  • Ability to stand, flex, crouch, and lift up to 25lbs on occasion.
