Description
SUMMARY: The KSSU Events and Production Assistant is responsible for working with the Student Services Coordinator to assist with in-person DJ events and produce engaging promotional material for KSSU. This position will coordinate efforts to create creative video and audio content to promote KSSU. The KSSU Promotions & Events Assistant is also responsible for scheduling and overseeing KSSU volunteers during scheduled events. They are also responsible for partnering with the KSSU Music and Production Assistant in creating KSSU audio and video highlights that display the different facets of KSSU. Occasional weekend and after-hours availability are required to support KSSU/campus-wide events.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Coordinate video and audio promotional activities for the station
  • Assist the Student Services Coordinator with scheduling and planning promotional events including DJ services
  • Facilitate volunteer involvement with promotional events, video and audio production.
  • Maintain contacts with on campus partners for possible event collaborations
  • Develop KSSU volunteers' DJ and production skills through workshops and one-on-one lessons
  • Assist the Student Services Coordinator with maintaining KSSU video and audio equipment.
  • Produces, in coordination with volunteers, show commercials, station IDs and other promotional audio for KSSU and its programming.
  • Collaborate with the Music & Production Assistant on recording and editing KSSU-related audio and video projects.
  • Safely perform job duties
  • Prepare and attend KSSU staff and DJ meetings
  • Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Enrolled in a minimum of 6 units at Sacramento State; maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA overall (for Student Assistant incumbents)
  • Proficiency with Word, Outlook
  • Experience with calendars/scheduling
  • Experience in working with volunteers
  • Marketing and/or promotional experience
  • Proficiency with Adobe Premier PRO, and Adobe Audition
  • After-hours, school breaks, and weekend availability for campus events

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience as a KSSU staff member or volunteer
  • Operating knowledge of in-studio and remote equipment
  • Experience working in audio production or class experience for 6 months or more.
