Job Description

The Analyst will be responsible for providing analytical, technical, statistical and administrative support to the Gas Distribution Engineering Organization. The candidate must be capable of working independently as well as in teams and will be required to travel to various locations throughout the Con Edison service territory.

Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities

  • Interact with business and technical stakeholders across multiple organizations to understand data needs, and support reporting requirements.
  • Analyze data across multiple systems to identify trends, inconsistencies, and data quality issues, and provide recommendations to improve processes and data reliability.
  • Develop and maintain SQL queries to extract, validate, and analyze data across multiple data sources.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize reporting solutions, including dashboards, queries, and data extracts, to support operational and strategic decision-making and monitor key performance metrics.
  • Develop and maintain Python-based processes to support data transformation, automation, validation, and analysis.
  • Perform data validation, reconciliation, and root cause analysis to resolve discrepancies and improve accuracy across enterprise systems.
  • Support process improvement initiatives, including monitoring data quality, documenting business rules, and improving consistency and usability of reporting outputs.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining data quality metrics, scoring frameworks, and reporting standards to measure and track performance.
  • Maintain documentation related to data sources, workflows, reporting logic, business rules.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve data quality, reporting processes, and overall data usability across the organization.
  • Work independently and collaboratively to manage multiple priorities, demonstrate initiative, and contribute to team and organizational goals.
  • Perform other related analytical and administrative tasks as required.
Qualifications

Required Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of work experience in operations, IT, data analytics, or related experience, or
  • Associate's Degree and 4 years of work experience in IT, data analytics, operations, or related experience, or
  • High School Diploma/GED and 5 years of work experience in IT, data analytics, operations, or related experience.

Preferred Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of relevant work experience in operations, IT, data analytics, or related experience.

Relevant Work Experience

  • Experience in data analytics, data governance, database management, or a related field, required.
  • Strong SQL skills, including the ability to develop, optimize, and troubleshoot complex queries for data extraction and analysis, required.
  • Experience developing and maintaining dashboards using Power BI or similar enterprise reporting tools, required.
  • Experience with Python or similar tools to support data transformation, automation, validation, and analysis, required.
  • Strong understanding of upstream and downstream data flows and the ability to analyze data across interconnected systems, required.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy, required.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to evolving business and data requirements, required.
  • Demonstrated ability to gather, interpret, and translate business requirements into technical solutions and reporting outputs, required.
  • Demonstrated curiosity, initiative and willingness to learn new technologies, systems, and business processes, preferred.
