Voice Architect Executive information

What is a Voice Architect Executive?

A Voice Architect Executive is a senior professional responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing voice communication systems within an organization. This role involves creating strategic plans for voice technology, such as VoIP, unified communications, and telephony infrastructure. They ensure that these systems are scalable, secure, and meet the business's needs, often collaborating with IT and business leaders. Additionally, they may manage vendor relationships, evaluate new technologies, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

How does a Voice Architect Executive typically collaborate with other teams to implement large-scale voice solutions?

A Voice Architect Executive works closely with IT, network engineering, security, and business operations teams to design and deploy enterprise voice solutions. They often lead cross-functional meetings to gather requirements, address integration challenges, and ensure alignment with organizational goals. Effective communication and project management skills are essential, as the role involves coordinating technical resources, overseeing vendor relationships, and providing guidance during migrations or upgrades. Collaboration ensures that voice systems are secure, scalable, and optimized for end-user experience.

What is the difference between Voice Architect Executive vs Voice Engineer?

AspectVoice Architect ExecutiveVoice Engineer
CredentialsTypically requires advanced certifications (e.g., CCNP Voice, CCIE Voice) and extensive experienceRequires foundational certifications (e.g., CCNA Voice) and technical skills
Work EnvironmentStrategic planning, project management, and high-level design in enterprise settingsImplementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of voice systems
Industry UsageUsed in large organizations for designing and overseeing voice solutionsCommonly employed in technical teams for daily voice system operations

The Voice Architect Executive focuses on high-level design, strategy, and oversight of voice communication systems, often managing teams and projects. In contrast, the Voice Engineer handles the technical implementation, configuration, and troubleshooting of voice solutions. Both roles require relevant certifications, but the architect role emphasizes planning and leadership, while the engineer role is more hands-on technical work.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Voice Architect Executive, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Voice Architect Executive, you need expertise in voice network design, telecommunications protocols, and enterprise communication systems, often backed by a degree in information technology or a related field. Familiarity with platforms like Cisco Unified Communications, VoIP solutions, and certifications such as CCNP Collaboration or similar are highly valued. Strong leadership, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills help in managing teams and collaborating with stakeholders. These skills ensure the successful design, implementation, and optimization of scalable voice solutions that align with business needs.

Job description

AWS Worldwide Public Sector's US Nonprofit (NPO) Solutions Architecture team is hiring a Solutions Architect II to partner with Account Executives across the Membership sub-vertical and serve the largest membership-based nonprofits in the United States - organizations whose missions touch tens of millions of Americans every year.
You will architect, demo, and accelerate AWS adoption for customers including national associations, religious organizations, charities, and member-services nonprofits - accounts where a single architectural decision can affect millions of members or program participants. The Membership sub-vertical inside NPO grew **+15.7% YoY YTD growth on $65.9M YTD QSR (106.2% attainment)** in H1 2026, with every month at or above 100% attainment. The work spans the most active themes in 2026 customer conversations: production generative AI on Amazon Bedrock, AI-driven business intelligence on Amazon Quick Suite, contact-center modernization on Amazon Connect, large-scale migrations from on-premises and competing clouds, and modern data platforms on AWS Lake Formation, AWS Glue, and Amazon QuickSight.
This is a player-coach team

We expect SAs to drive customer outcomes individually AND to invest in each other's growth - through a bi-weekly Kiro demo-build program, a structured SA-AE mock customer-call program for skill development, peer architecture review, and shared development of internal accelerators (Kiro CLI workflow automation, agentic-AI playbooks, customer-engagement frameworks). You will be expected to ship customer wins in your first 90 days, and you will be developed toward the next level from day one.
Key job responsibilities
- Serve as the primary technical advisor on a named book of strategic Membership sub-vertical accounts (typically 3-5 accounts), partnering daily with their Account Executive on customer engagement strategy, opportunity progression, and stakeholder alignment from technical-IC altitude up to CIO/CTO/CFO.
- Drive end-to-end AWS adoption across customer workloads: discovery, architecture design, proof of concept, production deployment, and ongoing optimization. Own the technical narrative across the customer's full lifecycle on AWS.
- Lead production-altitude generative AI engagements on Amazon Bedrock - including Knowledge Base + AgentCore deployments, Retrieval-Augmented Generation patterns, model selection and inference-latency optimization, agentic-AI use cases (Strands SDK, Amazon Q), and Responsible AI guardrails for member-facing applications.
- Architect contact-center modernization on Amazon Connect (including Amazon Lex, Amazon Nova Sonic for voice, agentic voice-banking patterns) and AI-driven analytics on Amazon Quick Suite, AWS Lake Formation, AWS Glue, and Amazon QuickSight.
- Lead customer-facing immersion days, builder days, and executive-altitude technical briefings - translating business priorities into AWS architectures, pricing estimates, and roadmap proposals.
- Build and contribute reusable demo and architecture patterns to the NPO SA org's bi-weekly Kiro demo-build program - your work is expected to multiply beyond your accounts and benefit peer SAs across the broader NPO vertical.
- Mentor more junior SAs on the team via structured coaching: the SA-AE mock customer-call program, build-day shadowing, peer review of customer artifacts, and pair-architecting on complex engagements.
- Influence customer technical and business stakeholders at director through C-suite altitude - earning the trust to be invited back into executive conversations on subsequent strategic decisions.
A day in the life
You might start the day with a 1:1 with your Account Executive on opportunity progression, then transition into a customer architecture review for a Bedrock production workload - including a discussion on inference-latency tradeoffs and Knowledge Base ingestion patterns

After that, you might run a Quick Suite Spaces demo for a customer's analyst team to show natural-language BI in action, draft an executive readout for a CIO using Kiro, and close the day with a 30-minute peer build-day session where you and a teammate design the next agentic demo for the Kiro demo-build program.
You will move between executive-altitude conversations, hands-on technical work, customer-tailored demo building, and mentorship of more junior SAs - often within the same day.
About the team
Our team supports the largest membership-based nonprofits in the United States, dozens of organizations whose missions reach tens of millions of Americans every year.
We invest heavily in each other. Operating norms - not nice-to-haves - include:
- A **bi-weekly Kiro demo-build program** where SAs across the NPO org showcase customer-tailored demos and pair-build new ones together (Feb-Dec 2026).
- An **NPO SA Org GenAI Accelerator** mechanism that closes the PoC-to-production gap on customer GenAI engagements by integrating GenAIIC and AIDLC.
- An **agentic-AI-first internal workflow**: 30+ NPO SAs across the broader NPO vertical use Kiro CLI to automate territory management, customer outreach, and demo-build - recovering tens of hours per week per SA back into customer-facing engagement.
The Membership team's customer engagements are real, the customers are mission-driven, and the team's investment in your development is durable. SAs on this team move up the technical-altitude ladder quickly.
