Summary:
The Cloud & Citrix Engineer is responsible for designing, engineering, and operating ADT's Citrix virtual application and desktop platforms across a hybrid infrastructure footprint that includes on-prem data centers, colocation facilities, and public cloud. This role focuses on advanced Citrix engineering, deep integration with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and the underlying compute platforms including VMware, hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI), and Google Compute Engine (GCE) as a cloud-native hypervisor. The engineer serves as a senior technical escalation point and partners closely with architecture, cloud, network, and security teams to ensure scalable, secure, and highly available solutions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and support Citrix DaaS/CVAD solutions across hybrid environments including on-prem and Google Cloud.
  • Engineer and support Citrix core components including Delivery Controllers, StoreFront, Citrix Cloud Connectors, Machine Creation Services (MCS), Provisioning Services (PVS), and Workspace.
  • Design, configure, and support NetScaler / ADC and gateway services for secure remote access, load balancing, traffic management, and SSL/TLS.
  • Engineer and support virtualization platforms including VMware ESXi/vCenter that underpin Citrix and application workloads.
  • Support hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) platforms, including performance tuning, capacity planning, and lifecycle management.
  • Engineer and operate cloud-native compute workloads using Google Compute Engine (GCE), including integration with networking, monitoring, and identity services.
  • Lead root cause analysis for complex incidents spanning Citrix, compute, network, storage, and identity layers.
  • Partner with architecture and engineering teams on platform roadmaps, standards, and modernization initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation, designs, diagrams, runbooks, and operational standards.
  • Mentor analysts and junior engineers; serve as an escalation point for complex infrastructure issues.
  • Participate in ServiceNow incident, change, and problem management processes.
  • Participate in scheduled after-hours and on-call rotation to support business-critical infrastructure services.
  • Support maintenance activities, upgrades, patches, DR testing, and major incident response.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Competencies:
  • Advanced expertise in Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD / DaaS) in large enterprise environments.
  • Strong experience with NetScaler / ADC engineering and secure access architectures.
  • Deep understanding of hybrid cloud infrastructure and cloud-native vs traditional hypervisor platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with VMware virtualization (vCenter / ESXi).
  • Experience supporting or engineering hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) environments.
  • Strong Google Cloud Platform experience, including GCE, networking, IAM, monitoring, and logging.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills across infrastructure layers.
  • Strong documentation, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively in high-availability, production environments.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Advanced experience supporting and engineering Citrix environments in enterprise production.
  • Experience supporting hybrid infrastructure across on-prem and public cloud platforms.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Citrix certifications (CCP, CCE-V, NetScaler).
  • Google Cloud certifications (Professional Cloud Architect, Network Engineer).
  • VMware certifications (VCP-DCV or equivalent).
  • Experience with automation, scripting, or infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, PowerShell, Python)

Working Conditions:
  • May require after-hours, weekend, or off-shift work during incidents, maintenance windows, or critical business events.
  • Participation in a rotating 24x7 on-call support model is required.
