Marketing Internship

MARKETING INTERNSHIP - Job Description

Hours:  Minimum of 24 hours and three days per week

Location:  100 CambridgeSide Place, Cambridge, MA 02141 

Reports to: Regional Marketing Director

Job Description

Expand your knowledge of the marketing field. The marketing internship involves marketing, communications, event planning, advertising and public relations for the entire center. Assist the Regional Marketing Director in the planning and execution of special and community events. Communicate weekly with store and restaurant managers. Assist the marketing department in developing and maintaining local outreach/customer loyalty programs. This includes database management, outreach, event and promotion planning, etc. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

Manage Online Presence

Property Website

  • Update site with press releases and upcoming events.
  • Update site with store events, promotions and job listings.
  • Update store listings and phone numbers as needed.
  • Review Google Analytics reports to assess trends.

Social Media

  • Draft social media content ideas tailored to each medium  â€“ Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.
  • Recommend content that will keep customers engaged – not just self-promotional.

Merchant Intensifications

Advertising

  • Reach out to store and restaurant managers regarding advertising opportunities such as in center signage, displays, website listings, social media, emails, etc.

Promotions

  • Secure retail participation for property promotions to include but not limited to sweepstakes, loyalty programs and local outreach.
  • Secure retail participation for property events. 
  • Prepare monthly tenant newsletter including important information and participation forms.

Events 

Planning

  • Assist in securing tenant and sponsor participation.
  • Manage registration database of event attendees (if applicable).
  • Manage and track store, vendor and sponsor participation.
  • Assist in overall event planning and execution.
  • Create signage as needed.

Implementation

  • Assist with event set up and breakdown.
  • Take photos of participants, vendors, set up and signage.
  • Assist in event management and representing the property through registration or outreach table.

Misc. 

Visual Standards

  • Walk property to ensure visual standards are being met. Check signage. 
  • Ensure the Welcome Center is displaying current information and has stock of needed supplies.

Basic requirements

  • Marketing, business or communications major preferred.
  • Junior or Senior preferred. 
  • Transportation to CambridgeSide. Please note that CambridgeSide is located on the Green Line T at the Lechmere station.
  • Must be a team player with creative ideas.
  • Must be organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented, with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Must have excellent spelling and grammar.
  • Excellent judgment and discretion. 
  • Understanding of retail, a plus but not required.
  • Work occasional nights, weekends and holidays to execute events.
