Job description

Purpose
Work in collaboration with all studio teams to create visual concepts to develop project-specific brand identities, and translate seamlessly from concept through implementation across digital, print, and three-dimensional applications within the built environment.

WHAT YOU DO

  • Develop brand identities from concept through implementation, including naming, logo development, visual identity systems (color, typography, iconography), collateral, brand guidelines, signage, packaging, digital campaigns, and the integration of brand identity into the built environment.
  • Create environmental graphic design solutions that enhance the overall design vision, including wall graphics, wallpaper, digital artwork, signage, wayfinding, and other branded experiences. Collaborate with signage vendors to develop and implement signage and wayfinding systems.
  • Translate demographic, psychographic, and project research into compelling visual concepts and design solutions that align with the client's brand, audience, and project goals.
  • Design digital and print collateral branded promotional products, and other marketing assets that support client projects and internal initiatives.
  • Prepare design mock-ups, branding presentations, and digital presentation materials, collaborating with internal creative and design teams and participating in client presentations as appropriate.
  • Demonstrate professionalism throughout the design process by presenting design concepts confidently, incorporating client and team feedback thoughtfully, and iterating solutions to meet project objectives while delivering an exceptional client experience.
  • Provide graphic design support across all design studios for internal and external needs, including layout and editing of mock-ups, environmental graphics, publications, product branding initiatives, and other visual communication needs.
  • Demonstrate exceptional taste level, creative judgment, and attention to detail, creating thoughtful, elevated design solutions that align with CID's design standards and each client's unique vision.
  • Maintain the highest standards of design quality by proofing all deliverables, ensuring accuracy, consistency, brand alignment, and adherence to established design standards.
  • Participate in project reviews, design critiques, and collaborative planning sessions, contributing ideas that strengthen project outcomes and foster creative innovation.
  • Support the development of compelling copy and messaging that supports brand strategy, visual storytelling, and marketing communications when appropriate.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Environmental Graphic Design, or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of professional graphic design experience with demonstrated expertise in branding, visual identity systems, and environmental graphic design. Experience designing for hospitality, multifamily, retail, or commercial interiors is preferred.
  • WELL AP certification and other industry experience as needed
  • Understanding of interior design, architecture, or experiential design principles, with the ability to integrate graphics seamlessly into the built environment.
  • Understanding of brand strategy and the ability to translate brand positioning into cohesive visual identities across print, digital, and environmental applications.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop). Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Canva, CAD, 3D modeling, and other graphic design, visualization, and presentation software is preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise preparing production-ready artwork, including appropriate file formats, print specifications, asset optimization for digital and print applications, and an understanding of licensing, copyright, and trademark considerations.
  • Strong understanding of typography, layout, color theory, composition, and visual storytelling principles.
  • Ability to translate demographic, psychographic, and market research into compelling visual design solutions that support client goals and brand strategy.
  • Excellent presentation, verbal, and visual communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate design concepts, present work confidently, and incorporate feedback throughout the creative process.
  • Strong attention to detail with exceptional organizational and time management skills, capable of managing multiple priorities while maintaining the highest standards of design quality.
  • Curiosity, creativity, and a collaborative mindset, with a passion for innovation, continuous learning, and contributing to a multidisciplinary design team.
