A Virtual Union is an organization that operates primarily online to represent, support, and advocate for the rights and interests of workers, often those in remote or digital workplaces. Unlike traditional unions, Virtual Unions use digital tools and platforms to organize members, negotiate with employers, and provide resources. They are especially useful for freelancers, gig workers, and employees in decentralized or global teams. Virtual Unions can offer collective bargaining, legal assistance, and educational resources, all through online channels.

Familiarity with case management systems, labor contract databases, and communication platforms is common in this role. Outstanding negotiation, interpersonal, and advocacy skills help build trust and effectively represent members' interests.
